St Lawrence School PTA

St Lawrence School PTA exists to fulfil the following aims:

  • Enhance and advance the educational environment of the pupils at St Lawrence Primary School
  • Foster relationships between staff, parents, the school and the local community.

The group plans and implements events that not only raise much needed funds, but also enrich the educational environment of the pupils and the school’s links within the community.  Such events include school fairs, discos, cinema evenings, Christmas activities and much more.  Over the years the PTA has funded the purchase of IT equipment, the Foundation Stage outdoor learning area and, more recently, the Trim Trail, which is used by the entire school on a daily basis.

Who do we need?

To run a successful PTA we need willing volunteers. We are always looking for fresh ways to raise money and new ideas often come from new people. Our meetings, usually held on a termly basis, are always informal and friendly. Anyone is welcome to come along to see what it’s all about. We appreciate any help you can offer and it doesn’t need to be a big commitment. Even if you are unable to attend meetings, we always need people to help with events – if everyone was able to give just an hour of their time a year it would make a massive difference!

If you would like to know more please ask Mrs Ward, our school secretary, who will put you in touch with Emma Bacon, the Chairperson of our PTA. Alternatively you could contact your class rep.
